Hot Dog & Sausage Tips & Tricks
How to grill a great hot dog? Some of the local iconic hot stands in Chicago are famous for their Char Dogs (think Wiener Circle). You can replicate this at home on your own.
Some simple tips. Most all hot dogs are fully cooked already, all your doing is re-heating. Our All Angus Beef Hot Dogs work best for grilling. Size matters the bigger the hot dog the better.
Grilling gives your hot dog that smoky, summer flavor you just can’t get any other way. Plus, no pots and pans to clean! Home run.
- Turn on your grill. Pre-Heat to 400 degrees
- Make 3 to 4 shallow diagonal slits in the hot dog. This will keep them from bursting while cooking
- Place Dogs on hot grill. Grill and keep them rolling until they’re looking perfectly charred!
- Serve. Take your hot dogs off the grill, dress them up your way and dig in! Remember this is Chicago no Ketchup on the Hot Dogs.
Tip: they go well with our Pretzel Sausage Bun and topped with our LocalFolks mustard and habanero pickle for a real treat!
